E Visa For European Countries has been introduced. According to media, EU (European Union) member states and European legislators agreed to change the current Schengen visa system to make it more digital without the need for stickers on passports.

The new law, once officially passed and implemented, will facilitate travelers who need a visa to enter the EU.  They will be able to apply online instead of going to consulates or visa services offices.

MEP Matej Nemec, one of the most prominent proponents of adopting a digital system for visas, confirmed that applicants would find the process “easier, cheaper and faster”.

Sweden’s Immigration Minister Maria Malmar Steinergaard says that this change will increase the security of the Schengen area. For example, the area could be made more peaceful by reducing the risks of fraud and theft of visa stickers. The Schengen area includes all 27 EU member states except Cyprus, Ireland, Bulgaria and Romania.

New Schengen Visa Rules 2023 has been released. The European Union allows visa-free entry for citizens of more than 60 countries outside the bloc. Currently, travelers who require a visa must have a Schengen sticker in their passport.

The European visa system continues to move towards digitization, with the establishment of an EU database to check entry and exit of passengers, validity of length of stay and security checks at borders.

Some countries, including Australia, adopt a similar system where visas are applied online to the passport of a traveler without a sticker. Using these systems applicants can upload the required documents and pay the fees.

However, the new EU system requires applicants to obtain a Schengen visa for the first time or who have a new passport or who have changed their biometric data. So that they personally appear at the consulate or visa offices and complete the information in this regard.
