There are two different Eids in Islam. There is an Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated at the end of the holy month of Ramadan. And the second is Eid al-Adha, the great Eid, which comes after the completion of the annual Hajj at the time of sacrifice.

Eid al-Adha is the second most important religious event in Islam, and falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. This year Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan is on 28 June 2023 (evening).

This year, Eid Al Adha was celebrated for five days in Pakistan. During these dates all private and public institutions were closed for the festival. As far as Eid Al Adha 2023 in Pakistan is concerned, the federal government has not yet disclosed any information regarding the public holidays. However, the expected dates of Eid Ul Adha Holidays In Punjab will be from June 27 to July 1, 2023.
Sunnah Of Eid Ul-Adha
Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaches us some sunnah’s to do on or before the day of Eid which are as follows.
- Getting up early in the morning.
- Do Miswak, If not, brush your teeth.
- take a bath
- Wear new or nicer clothes
- Apply perfume
- Use hair oil
- Avoid eating before the Eid prayer
- Try to arrive early for Eid prayers
- Listen to the sermon (Khutbah)
- While going for the Eid prayer, recite the Takbeer of Tashreeq in a loud voice
اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ
Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, Allahu akbar laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar, Allaah akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd
(Allah is the Most Great, Allah is the most Great, Allah is the most Great. There is no god but Allah, Allah is the Most great, Allah is the most great, and to Allah be praise)
