After a long wait, Mark Zuckerberg has announced the introduction of a feature to send photos in HD quality in the messaging application WhatsApp.

In a Facebook post, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the WhatsApp HD Photo feature is being added. This new feature will help the users to save the high definition resolution of the image. Whether the image is sent from Android, iOS or the web. These HD images will appear with a small HD logo on the bottom left hand side.

This feature will appear as an ‘HD’ icon (with editing tools) after the application is updated. After tapping this feature, the option of standard quality or HD quality appeared.

According to WhatsApp, choosing a standard quality will ensure fast and durable delivery of images. If the user receives an HD image and the bandwidth is poor, the user will have the option to receive the image in standard quality or HD quality.
