Mobile phone companies in Pakistan have been allowed SIM dis-ownership charges on sims of Rs. 200 for deactivating SIMs that have been in use for less than 6 months from next year. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in a statement announced the imposition of charges on SIM returns.

The PTA says that from January 1, 2024, mobile service providers have been allowed to charge “SIM dis-ownership charges” of up to Rs 200 on the return of SIMs used for a period of less than six months. Which will also apply to the four provinces of Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
PTA tax on mobile phone has been removed for 120 days
The PTA says customers can return their unneeded mobile SIMs free of charge till December 31, 2023 to avoid charges. To ensure responsible use of SIM. It should be noted that in case of issuing an illegal SIM without the knowledge or consent of the user, one time SIM termination will be allowed free of charge.
Pakistan Telecom Authority says that users can get information about SIMs registered in their name at cnic.sims.pk (free). While you can also get information by sending your National Identity Card number to 668 through mobile.
