Govt has announced Eid ul Adha 2024 holidays in Pakistan
The Cabinet Division of Pakistan has on Tuesday sent a summary to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat proposing Eid ul Adha holidays 2024. Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in Pakistan on June 17 after the sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon on June 7.
The federal government has approved a three-day holiday from June 17 to 19 on the occasion of Eid ul Adha 2024 in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the summary sent by the Cabinet Division.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Eid of Sacrifice, is one of two Eids celebrated by the Muslim faithful to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to sacrifice his son for Allah . Traditionally marked by the slaughter of animals, the meat of which is shared with family members and the poor.
The faithful slaughter their sacrificial animals in commemoration of the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim, which lasts for three days of Eid.
