The government of Pakistan has declared Eid Ul Adha 2023 Holidays this year. In this context, the government has also issued notification of three holidays.

According to the notification issued by the federal government, Eid-ul-Azha will be a public holiday from June 29 to July 1, 2023.

The Zil-Hajj moon was sighted in Pakistan yesterday, according to which Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Thursday, July 29 across the country.

It should be noted that government employees will reach offices on Monday, July 3 after 4 holidays including Sunday.

When is the moon of Zil Hajj likely to be seen in most of the Muslim countries of the world, the astronomer said. In the statement released by the International Astronomical Center, it is said that there is a possibility of seeing the moon in the countries where Sunday, June 18, is the 29th of Dhul Qadah.

In these countries, 1st Dhul-Hajj may be on Monday, June 19 and Eid-ul-Adha on Wednesday, June 28. Pakistan will have 28th of Dhul Qadah on June 18 and the meeting of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held on June 19, Monday i.e. 29th of Zul-Qa’d.

When is Eid Al-Adha 2023

1st Zil Hajj in Pakistan is expected on Tuesday 20th June or Wednesday 21st June. Thus, Eid-Al-Adha 2023 in Pakistan is likely to happen on Thursday, June 29 or Friday, June 30.

According to the International Center for Astronomy, most of the Muslim countries will try to see the moon of Dhul-Hajj on 29th Dhul-Qaad i.e. 18th June. In the western and central regions of the Islamic world, it would be difficult to see the moon even from this historical Kotili scope.

The World Astronomical Center further says that the moon will not be visible in the eastern regions of the Islamic world on Sunday, June 18.

The moon will set 7 minutes after sunset in Jakarta, at which point it will have been 6 hours 5 minutes into its birth. The moon will set 29 minutes after sunset in Abu Dhabi and the moon’s age at that time will be 12 hours 4 minutes.

The moon will set 31 minutes after sunset in Riyadh, making it 13 hours old. The moon will disappear from sight 37 minutes after sunset in Oman and Occupied Jerusalem, at which time it will be 14 hours old.

Sunnah Of Eid Ul-Adha

Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaches us some sunnah’s to do on or before the day of Eid which are as follows.

  • Getting up early in the morning.
  • Do Miswak, If not, brush your teeth.
  • take a bath
  • Wear new or nicer clothes
  • Apply perfume
  • Use hair oil
  • Avoid eating before the Eid prayer
  • Try to arrive early for Eid prayers
  • Listen to the sermon (Khutbah)
  • While going for the Eid prayer, recite the Takbeer of Tashreeq in a loud voice
