Govt has announced Eid ul Adha 2024 holidays in Pakistan

The Cabinet Division of Pakistan has on Tuesday sent a summary to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat proposing Eid ul Adha holidays 2024. Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in Pakistan on June 17 after the sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon on June 7.

The federal government has approved a three-day holiday from June 17 to 19 on the occasion of Eid ul Adha 2024 in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the summary sent by the Cabinet Division.

Muslims all over the world, including Pakistan, have started preparations for Eid. In such a case, there is good news for government employees that they are likely to get a big holiday on Eid this time. On the occasion of Eid Ul Adha, government employees are likely to get a five-day holidays starting from June 15 and ending on June 19

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Eid Ul Adha is likely to happen on June 17 (Monday). However, the final date will be decided by the Central Royat Hilal Committee.

The official announcement of the Eid holidays is yet to be made, but according to the probable schedule, the official Eid holidays could be from June 17 to 19. Technically the holidays will start from June 15 (Saturday). Because most government offices are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Thus, government employees are likely to get five consecutive days off.

If Eid ul Adha falls on June 18, 2024 according to moon sighting, the government may revise the holiday schedule and announce a new one. The final announcement in this regard will be made soon by the government.

On the occasion of Eid ul Adha, government employees are likely to get a five-day holidays starting from June 15 and ending on June 19, but the final decision and announcement will be made by the government.

The government of Pakistan has declared Eid Ul Adha 2023 Holidays this year. In this context, the government has also issued notification of three holidays.

According to the notification issued by the federal government, Eid-ul-Azha will be a public holiday from June 29 to July 1, 2023.

The Zil-Hajj moon was sighted in Pakistan yesterday, according to which Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Thursday, July 29 across the country.

Sunnah Of Eid Ul-Adha

Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaches us some sunnah’s to do on or before the day of Eid which are as follows.

  • Getting up early in the morning.
  • Do Miswak, If not, brush your teeth.
  • take a bath
  • Wear new or nicer clothes
  • Apply perfume
  • Use hair oil
  • Avoid eating before the Eid prayer
  • Try to arrive early for Eid prayers
  • Listen to the sermon (Khutbah)
  • While going for the Eid prayer, recite the Takbeer of Tashreeq in a loud voice
