The government has also reduced the price of kerosene by Rs 7.53 per liter to Rs 237.28 and the price of light diesel oil by Rs 7.77 to Rs 212.45 per litre. Commodity prices were last seen falling in mid-July when petrol fell by Rs 9 to Rs 253 and diesel by Rs 7 to Rs 253.50 per litre.
The finance ministry said in a statement that the decision to cut the prices of petroleum products was taken after the appreciation of the Pakistani rupee and the fall in POL prices globally.
