Petrol and diesel prices reduced in Pakistan from October 1, 2024

The government of Pakistan has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 2.7 and the prices of high speed diesel by Rs 3.40 per liter. As the Finance Ministry announced the new rates as part of the fifteenth revision.

The government has announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs 2.7 per litre, after which the new price of petrol has become Rs 247.3.

The price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 3.40 per litre, after which the new price of diesel has been reduced from Rs 249.69 to Rs 246.29.

The government has reduced the price of light diesel by Rs 1.3 per litre, from Rs 141.93 to Rs 140.90 per litre.

Similarly, the price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs 3.57 per liter after which the new price of kerosene oil has been fixed at Rs 154.90.

It should be noted that the new prices of petroleum products will be applied from 12 midnight on October 1. From June 1 to October 1, 2024, the prices of petrol has been reduced by a total of Rs 21.23 per litre, while the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs 18.67.

In a relief to the inflation-stressed public, Pakistan’s caretaker government on Saturday cut the price of Petrol and Diesel for the next fortnight, for the first time in two-and-a-half months.

The government has reduced the price of petrol by 8 rupees, while the price of diesel has been reduced by 11 rupees, after which the new price of fuel will be 318.18 rupees per litre. The new commodity prices have come into effect from midnight today.

The government has also reduced the price of kerosene by Rs 7.53 per liter to Rs 237.28 and the price of light diesel oil by Rs 7.77 to Rs 212.45 per litre. Commodity prices were last seen falling in mid-July when petrol fell by Rs 9 to Rs 253 and diesel by Rs 7 to Rs 253.50 per litre.

The finance ministry said in a statement that the decision to cut the prices of petroleum products was taken after the appreciation of the Pakistani rupee and the fall in POL prices globally.
