CM Punjab Interest Free E Taxi scheme 2025 – Apply online

The Punjab government has launched the Interest-Free E-Taxi Scheme 2025 with 5-year easy installments, one of the most ambitious public transport initiatives in the country’s history.

These electric taxis are available on easy, interest-free installments, aiming to make clean transportation affordable while providing a reliable way for young and unemployed people to earn.

Punjab e taxi scheme 2025 eligibility Criteria

Must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
Minimum age 21 years and maximum 60 years
Must hold a valid driving license.
Must not be a defaulter of any bank.
Both men and women are eligible to apply.

Installments and price

The estimated cost of the electric taxi is Rs. 6.5 million (65 lakh).
Down Payment (30%): Approx. Rs. 18-20 lakhs, advance payment.
Remaining balance (70%): Approx. Rs 45-47 lakhs, financed through banks.
Monthly installment: Approximately Rs. 60,000.
Interest charges: None, as the government covers them.
Special case: Punjab government offers 30% subsidy to selected candidates

How to apply online

Applications will be handled online through the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). A registration portal has been launched for this purpose. Click here

In its first phase, 1,100 electric taxis will be distributed. Each taxi will be equipped with modern, GPS and smart meters to ensure passenger safety and fair fare collection.
