Sasta Petrol App: How to get subsidy on fuel quota in Pakistan
Following a prolonged hike in the prices of petroleum products, the government of Pakistan on Thursday announced a three-month petrol subsidy of Rs 100 for motorcycle users under the Sasta Petrol app. He announced a subsidy of Rs. 100 per liter for motorcycle users.
The Petroleum Minister said that the government has made every effort to protect the public, but the government is raising prices under forced agreements and promises. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the decision taken today was made in consultation with the country’s leadership.
He said that motorcyclists will get this subsidy on 20 liters of petrol per month. This relief will be given for three months. The Finance Minister also said that a subsidy of Rs 100 per liter will be provided to intercity and public transport for one month.
Goods transport vehicles will also get similar relief, while truck operators will be provided with a monthly subsidy of Rs 70,000 and large vehicles with a monthly subsidy of Rs 80,000. Public service buses will get Rs 100,000 per month.
For small farmers, the government will provide a one-time subsidy of Rs 1,500, including relief on diesel. He added that the subsidy measures will be reviewed after a month, and support will also be provided to Pakistan Railways.
Meanwhile, the government has increased petrol prices by Rs 138 per liter to Rs 458.40, while diesel prices have increased by Rs 184 per liter to Rs 520.35, pushing fuel prices to an all-time high.
