Banks in Pakistan will remain open until 10 PM tonight

Pakistan’s commercial banks will extend their operating hours until 10:00 PM today (Wednesday, September 30, 2026) to allow taxpayers to complete over-the-counter payments of government dues and taxes before the deadline expires.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) issued this directive at the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Banks have also been instructed to facilitate special clearing arrangements for government transactions and to ensure the uninterrupted provision of digital payment services via internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs, and other online channels.

Consequently, taxpayers may utilize both physical bank branches and digital banking facilities to complete their payments on time.
