Flour prices have risen in Pakistan; price of roti has also gone up
Across the country, flour prices have gone beyond the reach of the general public. Stone-ground flour is now selling at 200 rupees per kilogram, while the price of fine ata (flour) has also seen a significant increase. The price of roti has also risen to between 30 and 35 rupees.
Similarly, fine ata —which has a fixed wholesale rate of Rs 132 per kilogram—is being sold at Rs 176 per kilogram. Ration flour is available at Rs 161 per kilogram in the wholesale market and Rs 168 per kilogram in the retail market.
Meanwhile, the price of roti has also reached the range of 30 to 35 rupees. Controlling market prices has become difficult because flour mill owners are failing to supply flour at government-fixed rates.
