Punjab govt has changed schools timing after winter vacations
Schools across Punjab will reopen on January 19 (Monday) after the winter vacations, with the School Education Department revising the school timings to accommodate the ongoing cold wave in the region.
The Punjab government has changed the school timings after the 2026 winter vacations. The department confirmed that schools, which were closed for winter vacations from December 21, 2025, will resume operations on January 19, 2025 (Monday).
Schools will open at 8:45 a.m. from Monday to Thursday and close at 1:30 p.m. However, on Fridays, schools will close earlier, at 12:30.

Meanwhile, all government and private schools in Punjab are also set to reopen on January 19, as the provincial government has not announced any further extension of the winter vacations. The resumption of classes is expected to continue as scheduled despite the ongoing cold weather.
