Solar Panel Prices Are Going To Be Very Affordable In Pakistan
The Pakistani government imposed a tax on solar panels
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has said that 46 percent of the goods for solar systems are imported. It has been decided to reduce the tax on solar panels from 18 percent to 10 percent.
The figure revealed by the Deputy Prime Minister is 8% lower than the one proposed by the government in the budget for the financial year 2025-26 where an 18% GST tax was proposed on imported solar panels to support local manufacturers and address market imbalances.

However, the percentage reduction comes a day after the National Assembly’s Finance Committee unanimously rejected the proposal for an 18 percent GST, a move aimed at meeting fiscal targets backed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Speaking in the Senate, he said that Pakistan’s economy is getting stronger day by day. The government has reviewed some budget proposals. There was a misunderstanding regarding digital tax. Sales tax on digital services will be the right of the provinces.
