Why Khunjerab Bypass Was Closed?

Under the framework of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the arrangement was in full swing since November 2016, but was closed in November 2019 for the corridor and trade and travel arrangements.

The reason for this closure was the Corona epidemic. Thousands of people became unemployed due to this shutdown. An estimated 70 percent of the local population depends on trade and transportation activities through the Khunjerab Pass.
