SBP announces bank holiday on May 1 on International Labor Day
According to the official announcement, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared a bank holiday on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) on the occasion of International Labor Day.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) on Labor Day as a public holiday, as announced by the Government of Pakistan,” the notification read.
To show solidarity with workers and respect the rights of the working class, the world celebrates May 1st every year as International Labor Day, also known as May Day.
23 March will be Public Holiday on Pakistan Day
The day also celebrates the work and achievements of workers around the world. The purpose of observing this day is to initiate measures to provide employment protection to laborers and industrial workers against any form of exploitation.
