Shab E Meraj Date in Pakistan

Shab E Meraj 2026 Date in Pakistan – Shabe Meraj History

Shab E Meraj 2026 Date in Pakistan:

Every year, Muslims around the world celebrate Shab e Meraj/Israa’ and Mi’raj at sunset on 27 Rajab, which falls on January 16, 2026 in Pakistan this year. Shab e Meraj is an important night for Muslims, commemorating the miraculous night journey of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

About Shab e Meraj

The Shab e Meraj, virtue or worship of Shab-e-Miraj is an important question that is often asked online and by Islamic scholars. If someone says that Shab-e-Miraj is one of the best nights in Muslim history and no one can deny it. Even no sect of Islam can deny it because it is directly related to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This is the best night and the best evening to distribute money to the needy. It is a kind and focused mindset to get an idea of the Nawafil of Shabe-Meraj before nightfall. But if you still miss it, I would like to share it with you guys.

Shab E Meraj History

The Night Journey, also known as Shab-e-Miraj, Israa, and Mi’raj or Al-Israa wa’l-Mi’raj, is celebrated on the 27th of the holy month of Rajab (the seventh month of the Islamic calendar). The literal translation of Shab-e-Mi’raj is the Night of Ascension.

This event is celebrated on the night when the Holy Prophet (PBUH) ascended to heaven from the Grand Mosque in Mecca. One of the great gifts of that night was that the obligation of Salat (obligatory prayer) was established upon Muslims. Like other events and occasions in the blessed life of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the night journey is a rich source of inspiration and lessons for all humanity.

This miraculous journey of Me’raj was in two parts. First, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) traveled from Mecca (the Kaaba) to Jerusalem (the Al-Aqsa Mosque) and then ascended to heaven by the command of Allah.

The night began with the visit of the chief of all angels, Gabriel, to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He then took Muhammad from the Sacred Mosque (Kaaba) to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. This part of the journey of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is described in the Holy Quran:

“Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from Al-Masjid Al-Haram to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, the vicinity of which We have blessed, that He might show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Surah Al-Isra’ 1:17)

The mode of transportation used for this journey at midnight was a horse-like animal called Al-Barq, which Allah Almighty sent from Jannah (Paradise). After riding this celestial mount, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached Masjid Al-Haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa in just a second.

Upon reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saw that all the prophets who had come before him (peace be upon him) were present there. These prophets included Abraham (peace be upon him), Isra (peace be upon him), Moses (peace be upon him) and all the other prophets. Here, Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed two rak’ahs of prayer of all the prophets.

Then two cups were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One cup was filled with wine and the other with milk. He looked at them and chose milk. Gabriel (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him:

“Praise be to Allah, Who guided you to the fitrah (purity and innocence). If you had loved wine, your nation would have gone astray”. (An-Nisa: 5657)

Shab e Meraj Amal

There are many Shab e Meraj Amal or virtues in fasting on the night of Miraj. Like other acts of worship, Muslims are encouraged to fast the next day. Miraj is celebrated on this night. Muslims can fast the entire next day according to the rules of fasting during Ramadan. The reward of fasting on the night of Miraj is greater than fasting the entire month of Ramadan.

According to the internal immigration circular, the ban applies to both tourist visas and employment visas. Citizens of the following nine countries cannot currently apply for the new visas:

  1. Afghanistan
  2. Bangladesh
  3. Cameroon
  4. Lebanon
  5. Libya
  6. Somalia
  7. Sudan
  8. Uganda
  9. Yemen

These countries are on the UAE’s official list of banned countries for 2025. While holders of previously issued visas can still enter and stay in the UAE, new applications are not being processed until further notice.

UAE introduces new, easier way to obtain work permit 2025

Why did the UAE impose this ban?

The UAE government has not publicly given an official reason for the decision. However, reports suggest three possible explanations:

Immigration control

The UAE has previously introduced similar restrictions due to overstays and document irregularities. The move could help control the influx of expatriates and tourists until stricter rules are implemented.

Security concerns

Some of the countries on the list face ongoing political instability and security concerns. The suspension may be part of the UAE’s effort to tighten entry rules and ensure national security.

Diplomatic and regional factors

Diplomatic tensions and regional conflicts could also influence such decisions. The ban could be a temporary step to monitor travel patterns more closely.
