Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has increased the buffer between new SIM cell sessions. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued 7 days process order to get new mobile phone SIM from 24 January 2024. Now you have to wait 7 days to get a new SIM.

The PTA says the decision to increase the buffer has been taken to “further enhance the effectiveness” of its efforts to protect consumers’ interests against the issuance of illegal SIMs.

New SOPs for getting a New Mobile Sim

  • The buffer between successful new SIM cell sessions will be increased from 8 hours to 7 days.
  • This means the user has to wait for 7 days after the new SIM card is activated. before he could buy another.
  • Duplicate SIMs and Mobile Number Portability (MNP) buffer will last up to 8 hours.
