Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that visas will be issued online within 24 hours to businessmen, investors and tourists of 126 countries without any fee. Relaxation of visa policy will make Pakistan an attractive destination for foreigners for business and tourism. Relaxation in visa policy will stabilize the economy, foreign exchange reserves will increase.
According to the statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, the federal government has taken important steps to promote foreign investment, business activities and tourism in the country.

The Federal Ministry of Home Affairs and other concerned ministries have taken a big step to relax the visa regime, which is a very positive development. Visa-free entry to Pakistan has been approved for businessmen from the Gulf Council countries, which will further increase investment and business opportunities in Pakistan from the Gulf countries.
He said that businessmen, investors and tourists from 126 countries will be issued visas under the online system within 24 hours. Businessmen and tourists from these 126 countries are exempted from visa fees.
The decision to relax the visa policy will make Pakistan an attractive destination for foreigners for business and tourism. A separate sub-category for visa-on-arrival facility for Sikh pilgrims holding passports of third countries has also been approved for the promotion of religious tourism.

The Prime Minister says that the e-system of electronic gates is being implemented at the airports of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Pakistan has holy places of many religions and other northern regions of the country including Gilgit-Baltistan are paradise for tourists.
A dashboard will also be set up in the Federal Ministry of Interior to review the implementation of the new visa system. which will monitor the visa free entry, business visa list and tourist visa on arrival in respect of the latter countries and provide review report. The performance of the Ministry of Interior and other relevant ministries and institutions on the new visa system is commendable.
