Expected Petrol Prices In Pakistan
The people of crisis-hit Pakistan are likely to breathe a sigh of relief as the price of petrol is expected to drop by Rs 35 per liter from October 16, 2023. After the reduction in petrol prices, the expected petrol prices will be Rs 285 per liter in Pakistan.
New Petrol Price in Pakistan
If the reduction in petroleum prices is approved, the price of petrol per liter will be Rs 285.38 and diesel price will be Rs 298.18 from October 16, 2023.
The government currently levies a petroleum development levy of Rs 50 per liter on high-speed diesel. The government can also maintain the price by increasing the levy by Rs 10 per liter as it aims to collect Rs 869 billion through levy during the current fiscal year as per the IMF condition.
Currently, the government levies a tax of around Rs 82 per liter on petrol and Rs 73 on HSD.
