SED Will Hire 4,000 Teachers In Punjab For Summer Camps In Schools
The School Education Department (SED) Punjab has recently decided to conduct summer camps in around 2,000 educational institutions during the upcoming summer vacations.
Reports say that the camps will be set up in five districts of Punjab province, including Lahore district, and the department is identifying 2,000 suitable schools for the initiative.
As part of the project, the department will recruit almost 4,000 ad-hoc based teachers for summer camps and the government will compensate them with an amount of Rs. 18,000/ per month.
Ad-hoc teachers recruited for summer camps will be tasked with organizing extra-curricular activities, sports and academic courses for the participating students.
Despite the department’s decision to organize summer camps in educational institutions, teachers in government schools in Punjab are concerned that students may not show keen interest in such programmes.
According to the reports, SED is planning to hold camps during the months of June, July and August, which coincide with the summer vacation period. The department is currently making preparations to ensure successful implementation of this initiative.
