CM Punjab Informed About The Extension Of Winter Vacations

The Interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, during his visit to Lahore Zoo, informed about the extension of winter vacations in educational institutions of Punjab. He announced that the winter vacation for students will be extended based on the recommendations of the education department. The current winter vacation period is till January 9, 2024.

Earlier, fake news about the extension of winter vacations in Punjab was doing the rounds on social media platforms. This has created confusion among students and parents. who considered the Punjab government’s notification of public holidays to be wrong.

During his visit, Chief Minister Punjab spoke about the continuous problem of smog and fog which caused difficulties to the passengers. Expressing his concern, Naqvi said that earlier there was no fog in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but now it persists in these areas as well.

Highlighting the impact on aviation, he said that due to low visibility, the airports of Faisalabad, Sialkot and Lahore are often closed due to fog. In an attempt to counter the visibility challenges, Naqvi mentioned plans for artificial rain in the event of adequate cloud cover, and emphasized the current lack of sufficient cloud cover.

Good news for students. The Punjab government has extended the winter vacations in other cities of the province including Lahore. Notification continues

A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi in which it was decided to extend winter vacations in schools across the province. The official notification for extension of winter vacation 2024 has been issued by the Punjab Government.

According to news, winter holidays in Punjab cities have been extended due to the current smog and bad weather in the region. Due to extreme cold, parents have also requested for extension of holidays.

Over the past week, students and parents have been concerned about the possible expansion, with several false reports circulating on social media. However, it has now been confirmed that winter holidays in Punjab, which started from December 18, have been extended till January 9.
