Extension of winter vacation in Punjab schools by one more week
Punjab School Education Dept has banned winter camps during holidays
The Punjab School Education Department has announced a complete ban on holding winter camps in all schools across the province during the winter holidays.
This directive affects both private and public institutions, aiming to ensure operations during the holidays.
In lieu of winter camps, the department will allow online classes to help maintain the academic progress of students. Education authorities have been directed to strictly implement this ban and take action against violators.
The department stressed that schools or individuals who try to circumvent the ban by holding winter camps will be subject to stiff penalties. The statement clarified that “no school, whether private or government, is allowed to hold winter camps during the holidays.”
Winter vacations in schools in the province began on December 23 and classes will resume on January 13, 2025. This revised schedule applies to all public and private schools.
