5.6 Magnitude Earthquake Tremors in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar
An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale was felt in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar on Tuesday afternoon, causing people to come out of their offices and homes.
Earthquake tremors were felt in Shakargarh, Chichawatani, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Hafizabad and Zafarwal in Punjab. Earthquake tremors were felt in Abbottabad, Swabi and Swat areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, earthquake tremors were felt in Bagh, Dhirkot and Muzaffarabad areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake started at 1:04 PM with a depth of 10 km. PMD said that the epicenter of the earthquake was East Kashmir, its longitude was 75.97 E and latitude 33.32 N.
