Federal Medical College, Islamabad, (Seats=100)
It is the first medical college in the public sector to be established in Pakistan’s capital city. The College was initially awarded recognition for MBBS degrees for only 50 seats after inspection by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) on 28th March 2011. However, the award was later enhanced to 100 seats when the PMDC rules and regulations were completed adequately after relocation to the N.I.H. Islamabad’s Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) is the College’s parent institution.

Federal Medical & Dental College’s (FM&DC) new campus was inaugurated on 27th February 2012 by the Prime Minister of that time. According to government quotas, seats are reserved for all provinces of Pakistan at the institute. The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is the main affiliated hospital. Additionally, another hospital (Federal General Hospital) at N.I.H. has been upgraded to provide more clinical learning opportunities for students.
