UAE introduces new, easier way to obtain work permit 2025
The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has simplified the process of obtaining work permit 2025 for skilled and unskilled workers abroad. This process can only be initiated by the employer.
How to get UAE Work Permit 2025 (MOHRE)
According to the ministry, there are four steps to obtaining a work permit. The employer must log in using a UAE Pass or digital ID. The application must be submitted through the ministry’s online services.
The application will be approved electronically if the required documents are complete. Otherwise, instructions will be given to resubmit. After approval, a government fee and insurance or bank guarantee must be submitted, and a job offer letter must be attached.
The ministry will have educational credentials certified by the Ministry of Education for skilled jobs, which will be completed within two weeks. Required documents include a copy of the passport, a color photograph, and certified educational certificates.
Applicants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran must submit their national identity card with clear photographs of both sides.
The organization must have a valid business license, with no violations. Electronic quota must be available and legal authority to sign must be present. The worker must be at least 18 years old and must not have an active work permit.
If someone’s salary is less than AED 4,000, they will not be considered skilled, even if they have a certificate. Certain professions such as doctors, teachers, coaches and lawyers will require a professional license, which will be issued by the relevant Emirati authorities.

Changes are permitted within six months of the work permit being issued, provided that the nationality changes but the job title and gender remain the same. The old entry permit must be cancelled by a federal agency.
