School Closed Due To Smog

The Punjab government has decided to keep educational institutions closed on Saturday and Friday in 10 districts including Lahore due to smog. In view of the smog, the Punjab government has taken important decisions. Regarding the situation of smog, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in which various proposals were considered to control smog.

The Punjab government has decided to keep educational institutions closed in 10 districts on Friday. This decision will be effective in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.

It has been decided in the meeting that the markets will open after 3 pm on Saturday. Markets will be completely closed on Sunday. On Sunday, there will be cycling on Mall Road from morning to 5 pm. The caretaker chief minister has decided to double the sprinkling of water on the roads and has also instructed the citizens to wear masks.

In the meeting, proposals were made to implement a soft smog lockdown to control smog. A proposal is under consideration to restrict public and private vehicles in the city while half of the employees will work in government offices. On Friday and Saturday, the proposal to install a bridge in the city will also be considered. While the Lahore High Court, expressing strong anger over the de-sealing of sealed factories due to pollution, stopped the de-sealing of factories without the permission of the court.
