MET Department Has Predicted Rain With Thunder From Today
The upper and central parts of Punjab are likely to witness thundershowers in the coming weeks, which will provide relief to people from the recent heat wave.
According to the Meteorological Department, a wave of westerly winds is likely to enter the western and upper parts of the country on Monday (today), which is likely to persist during the week.
Wind, dust/thundershower is likely to occur in Kashmir (Wadi Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Siddhanti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) under the influence of this weather system.
Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamar, Astor, Ghazar, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shagar), Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Karam, Waziristan Kohat, Bannu, Tank, Kirk, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum from May 22 (evening/night) to May 26.
Wind-dust-thunderstorm and rain is also expected in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, Noshki, Naseerabad, Kalat, Khuzdar, Sibbi, Turbat and Panjgur) and upper Sindh, Sukkur, Dadu, Jacobabad and Larkana on May 22 (evening/night) till May 24.
The Meteorological Department has warned that dust storms may damage structures and standing crops in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from May 23 to May 25.
