Petrol Price is likely to increase by Rs 7 from February 1 in Pakistan

Before the elections, the petrol price in Pakistan is likely to increase by rupees 7 from February 1, 2024. The caretaker government will revise oil prices from January 31. Oil prices will be adjusted as per OGRA’s recommendation.

It should be remembered that the government had reduced the prices of petroleum products by Rs. 8 from January 15.

According to the report, the caretaker government will revise the prices of petroleum products from January 31 to February 15, 2024. Petrol and diesel prices are likely to increase by Rs 7 per liter from January 31, but OGRA has not yet sent any proposal regarding the prices of petroleum products. The price revision of petroleum products will be done as per the recommendations of OGRA.

In the latest revision, the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil have been reduced by Rs 1.97 and Rs 0.92 per liter respectively.

OGRA Petrol Prices in Pakistan from January 1, 2024

It may be recalled that in the last fortnight, the government had kept the prices of petrol and diesel at Rs 267.34 and Rs 276.21 per liter respectively.

Kerosene oil price decreased by Rs 2.19 to Rs 188.83 per liter while light diesel oil was sold at Rs 165.75. Because the government has increased the prices of commodities by 1.11 rupees.

The government has indicated the possibility of making petrol and diesel cheaper in the country. According to media reports, the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel in Pakistan may be reduced by 8 to 10 rupees per liter from November 15 due to the fall in oil prices in the global market.

Currently, the price of crude oil in the world market has decreased by 4% since July to reach the lowest level of 78 dollars per barrel. Therefore, it is expected that after the reduction in prices in the global market, the people of Pakistan will also get relief on petroleum products.

It should be noted that on November 1, the federal government had announced to maintain the prices of petroleum products. In which it was said that there will be no change in petrol and diesel prices from November 1 and the current price of petrol and diesel will remain unchanged for the next 15 days.

The price of kerosene was reduced by Rs 3.82 per liter on November 1, the new price is Rs 211.3 per litre. On November 1, the price of light diesel oil was also reduced by Rs 3.40 paise per liter after which the new price of light diesel has been fixed at Rs 189.46 per litre.

The government has reduced the price of petrol by 8 rupees, while the price of diesel has been reduced by 11 rupees, after which the new price of fuel will be 318.18 rupees per litre. The new commodity prices have come into effect from midnight today.
