Public Holiday Has Been Declared On September 1

UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024, published in the Official Gazette (the approved transmission of laws and decrees issued by the UAE government), details the government’s plans for public and private holidays in 2025.

Public Holidays UAE 2025

The UAE’s public and private sector holidays for 2025 will include:

  1. As has been the tradition in recent years, a day off will be observed on January 1 (Wednesday) 2025, the celebration of the Gregorian New Year.
  2. Three days off from 1-3 Shawwal (depending on moon sighting) for Eid al-Fitr. An additional day may be added when the 30 days of Ramadan are complete.
  3. There will be one day off for the Day of Arafat (9th Dhul Hijjah) and another three days off for Eid al-Adha (10th to 12th Dhul Hijjah).
  4. A day will be given for the Islamic New Year (falling on 1 Muharram, the Gregorian calendar date will be confirmed).
  5. The calendar provides holidays for the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) (falls on 12 Rabi’ ul-Awal, Gregorian calendar date to be confirmed).
  6. It also appears that next year we will get December 2 and 3 (Tuesday and Wednesday) to celebrate Remembrance Day and the 54th UAE Union Day (which was formally a national day).
