NHA increased toll tax rates on all Motorways and Highways

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced an increase in toll tax on highways and motorways and the new rates will be applicable from October 1, 2024. As per the notification, the revised toll tax rates will be applicable on all national highways and motorways.

Punjab Govt approved the recruitment for CTI Jobs 2024 in Punjab

Good news for educated and unemployed people. The Punjab government has approved the recruitment of teachers in government colleges across the province. Punjab Government has approved the recruitment of 7,354 CTI Jobs 2024 (College Teaching Interns) for male and female. 

In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday, the cabinet also approved a special allowance for the police personnel serving in the Katcha areas. Additionally, the Cabinet approved an “Endowment Fund for Writers’ Welfare” of Rs 500 million under the Department of Information and Culture.

During the meeting, it was announced that a “central portal” for CTI jobs 2024 would be created to ensure transparent recruitment of CTIs in government colleges of Punjab. The cabinet also approved amendments to the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess Act, 2015 and delegated leave and pension powers to District Health and Education CEOs.

The appointment of Government Analyst, Provincial Drug Inspector and Punjab Caretaker Ombudsman was also approved. The Chief Minister directed to speedy completion of legal process for establishment of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), stressing the need for a competent authority to deal with artificial inflation and hoarding.

In mid-September, cement prices in Pakistan have come down, giving some relief to the construction sector. Prices had touched their highest levels earlier this year. But now these prices are coming down due to oversupply, low demand and government measures to control prices.

As of mid-September, a 50 kg bag of cement is priced between Rs 1,480 and Rs 1,530 depending on the brand. While other brands like Flying Cement are available at even lower prices, with prices ranging from Rs 1,465 to Rs 1,480.
