In istikhara, the seeker of Allah’s will goes through a number of steps to discover divine guidance. Through supplications and repetitions of certain verses, the seeker hopes to receive positive messages or predictions. The seeker then shares this prediction with a trusted individual, and only then abides by the advice he or she received.
Definition of Istikhara
The word “Istikhara” is an Arabic language word which means “to seek Allah’s guidance”. Allah (S.W.T) has taught us to seek His help and guidance in every matter. We are very lucky that our beloved Prophet SAW has already told us a prayer just for this! Which is called Salat-ul-Istikhara, after that we pray the Istikhara dua.
It is recorded in hadith that Muhammad (SAW) used to teach his followers to seek advice from Allah (Istikhaara) for every matter just as he used to teach them the Surah from the Qur’an. In another Hadith Muhammad (S.A.W) said:
“He who seeks advice (Istikhara) from Allah (S.W.T.) will not fail, and he who consults and seeks advice from people will not regret”.
Importance of Istikhara
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) has mentioned with regards to Istikharah: “The person who does Istikharah will never suffer loss”.
Istikhara is a Sunnat of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W). Before starting any work, business, higher education or making any important decision, travel, and other major events in life, starting a journey, deciding on marriage, accepting a new job offer or any other major decision, Istikhara is very important for seeking guidance from Allah (S.W.T.).
If we have to make decisions between multiple job offers, spouse, travel, people, relatives etc, how do we know if our decision will be the right one or wrong? We don’t! But Allah has the knowledge of the unseen and knows what is better for his creations.
‘Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi’ilmika, Wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa as’alaka min fadlika al-‘azlm Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta’lamu Wala a’lamu, Wa anta ‘allamu l-ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta’lam anna hadha-l-amra Khairun li fi dini wa ma’ashi wa’aqibati amri (or ‘ajili amri wa’ajilihi) Faqdirhu wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li Fihi, Wa in kunta ta’lamu anna hadha-lamra shar-run li fi dini wa ma’ashi wa’aqibati amri (or fi’ajili amri wa ajilihi) Fasrifhu anni was-rifni anhu. اے اللہ! بے شک میں تجھ سے تیرے علم کے ساتھ بھلائی طلب کرتا ہوں اور تجھ سے تیری قدرت کے ساتھ طاقت طلب کرتا ہوں اور میں تجھ سے تیرے فضل عظیم کا سوال کرتا ہوں کیونکہ تو قدرت رکھتا ہے اور میں قدرت نہیں رکھتا ، تو جانتا ہے اور میں نہہیں جانتا اور تو غیبوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔ اے اللہ اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ بے شک یہ کام (اس کام کا نام لے) میرے لئے میرے دین ، میرے معاش اور میرے انجا م کار کے لحاظ سے بہتر ہے تو اس کا میرے حق میں فیصلہ کر دے اور اسے میرے لئے آسان کر دے ، پھر میرے لئے اس میں برکت ڈال دے اور اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ بے شک یہ کام (اس کام کا نام لے) میرے لئے میرے دین، میرے معاش اور میرے انجام کارکے لحاظ سے برا ہے تو اسے مجھ سے دور کر دے اور میرے لئے بھلائی کا فیصلہ کر دے جہاں بھی وہ ہو ، پھر مجھے اس پر راضی کر دے ۔
O Allah, with Your knowledge I seek the good, with Your power I seek ability and Your mighty favor for certainly You have the power that I don’t have, You know and I do not Know and You Know the unseen. O Allah, in Your knowledge if this work is good for me in this Dunia and the Akhirah (hereafter), then let it be for me, grant me blessings in it and if it is bad for me then keep it far away from me and grant me any destiny that will make me happy.
How To Perform Istikhara Prayer?
First, pray two rakah nawafil [i.e. 2 units of prayer]
In first rakah, recite Surah Fatiha and recite another surah (It is better to recite Surah Al Qafiroon) and complete first raka.
In second raka, after surah fatiha, recite any surah (It is better to recite Surah Ikhlaas) and complete the 2nd raka.
After this prayer, during sitting the same place, recite the Istikhara Dua (given above).
Like other duas and prayers, try to keep your face to the Qiblah while praying the dua.
It is better to recite Darood before and after the Istikhara dua.

Istikhara dua doesn’t always have to be done before sleeping.
You can pray this dua for any problem or any situation.
Allah loves it when His creations come to Him asking for His help, so don’t think you are too sinful or unworthy of seeking His guidance because He (Allah) is so merciful upon his creations.
The signs and results don’t always come in the form of dreams. They can also come as a feeling within the heart, or it may come up in a conversation you have with a scholar, or even when you are reading the Quran and you understand the meaning or you read the translation in your language.
Istikhara is NOT only for marriage purposes. It is a general dua for any situation as mentioned above.
Have Strong Believe On Allah
Dua Istikhara does not assure that your problem will be solved or that you will receive what you are asking for, but this is a way to show Allah that you are sincerely seeking His help and Allah will definitely show you the right way.
Consult those with knowledge such as pious scholars or even close family members who you know want good for you, like your parents.
Do not get disappointed and frustrated if you don’t see any results or signs instantly. Allah dislikes that you hasten and rush your dua and seeking His (Allah’s) help. Take your time and ask from the bottom of your heart.
Be sincere and continue following these steps for a few days. Scholars mention that continuously reciting this dua with the above steps for 7 days should bring results (Insha Allah).

The Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that the IMF had set the previous conditions of approval of the new budget, a memorandum of understanding with the provinces to create cash surpluses, raising petroleum levy rates, increasing electricity prices in the month of July, August, and October, and increasing interest rates. He said that these conditions have been met.
The government has already imposed Rs. 10 per liter levy on petrol from July 2022, which will have to be further increased by another Rs. 10 on August 1 until it gradually reaches Rs. 50 per liter. Currently, petrol is being sold at Rs 230.24 per liter and diesel at Rs. 236.
A day earlier, the local currency plunged to a new low against the US dollar, which continued to strengthen for the ninth straight session in the interbank market. The greenback closed at an all-time high of Rs. 236.02 in the interbank market, up from Rs 232.93 a day earlier, as it shed Rs 3.09 or 1.31%.

The origin of the Punjabi calendar is not clear. Some sources say it is based on the Bikrami calendar in which the dates of Sikh Gurus’ birth and death are used to number the years. The calendar is traced back to medieval times when Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru, converted to the Nanakshahi Calendar.

There are two different Eid’s (Celebration Festivals) in Islam. One is Eid-ul-Fitr, which is celebrated on the completion of the Holy Month of Ramadan; and the second is Eid ul Adha, the greater Eid, which follows the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, at the time of Qurbani (sacrifice)
Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said “It is a tradition that has come down to us from Ibrahim”. Eid al-Adha, which means “the feast of the sacrifice”, celebrates Ibrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah (S.W.T). Eid al-Adha is one of the most important holiday in Islam. It marks the end of Hajj, a pilgrimage to Makkah that all Muslims must make at least once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able to do so. The holiday celebrates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail (A.S) as an act of obedience to Allah (S.W.T).
It is celebrated in the first 10 days of the Holy Month of Dhul Hijjah, last month of the Islamic year and has its own set of important rituals that are followed by Muslims all over the world. The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, with each month starting on a new moon. Eid al-Adha is an important holiday in Islam.
Eid al-Adha is a three day festival and is celebrated on 10th day of Dhul Hijjah in Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Pakistan and some other parts of the world. On this day all Muslims offer prayers at Masjid, Eid Gah, Grounds or any open and wide land. They pray to Allah for forgiveness for their sins over past 12 months as well as make dua (prayer) for themselves, friends and family members who are living in different parts of world with them.
Eid al-Adha is the second most important religious holiday in Islam, and it falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. This year, Eid al-Adha falls on June 07, 2025 (Saturday) in Pakistan.
Eid al-Adha marks the end of the annual hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and is a time for Muslims to remember Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his own son for Allah. According to Islamic tradition, Allah spared Ibrahim’s son Ismail, and replaced him with a ram.

The festival of sacrifice begins with the historical event when Hazrat Ibrahim (as) was commanded by Allah Almighty in a dream to sacrifice his son Ismail in the way of Allah. In obedience to this command, while he was sacrificing his son Ismail, Allah Almighty sent the angel Gabriel (peace be upon him) with a ram. Gabriel told Ibrahim that his dream had come true and that Allah had instructed him to sacrifice a ram as a ransom for his son. This story is written the Holy Quran in Chapter No. 37.
On this great deed, Allah Almighty commanded the Muslim Ummah on the Day of Resurrection to offer sacrifices in the way of Allah in remembrance of this deed.
During Eid al-Adha, Muslims who can afford and who meets the requirements, it must perform an animal sacrifice as a reminder of this history; this practice is known as qurbani in Islam, which means “sacrifice.” While many families choose goats or sheeps, cows and camels are common among some communities because they have great significance in Islam—they represent purity and generosity according to Islamic tradition because they give milk without being asked for it first. In fact, one reason why Muslims do this ritual every year during Eid al-Adha has little if anything directly related with religion!
Sunnahs of Eid al Adha and Eid Prayer:

Wake up early in the morning.
Do Miswak, if not then clean your teeth with brush.
Take a bath.
Wear new or best clothes.
Apply perfume.

Refrain from eating before the Eid prayer.
Try to reach early for Eid Prayer.
Listen the Khutba (Sermon)
Recite the Takbir of Tashriq in a loud while going for Eid prayer.

نمبر 2۔ ڈرائی یعنی خشک بالوں کیلئے 2 چمچ ایلوویرا جیل، 2 چمچ کوکونٹ یعنی ناریل کا تیل اور 2 چائے کے چمچ کوکونٹ پیس کر ملا لیں اور نہانے سے پہلے بالوں میں استعمال کریں اور 20 منٹ بعد بال دھو لیں۔

Federal Medical College, Islamabad, (Seats=100)
It is the first medical college in the public sector to be established in Pakistan’s capital city. The College was initially awarded recognition for MBBS degrees for only 50 seats after inspection by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) on 28th March 2011. However, the award was later enhanced to 100 seats when the PMDC rules and regulations were completed adequately after relocation to the N.I.H. Islamabad’s Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) is the College’s parent institution.
Federal Medical & Dental College’s (FM&DC) new campus was inaugurated on 27th February 2012 by the Prime Minister of that time.
