Consistency is key for the Kia Sportage, which entered its fifth generation late last year. The model looks set to be a huge hit for the firm once again in 2023, thanks to its eye-catching design, on-trend powertrains and strong value for money. It was consistently in the top ten last year.
5. Nissan Juke: 12,590 units
The Nissan Juke helped Nissan complete a perfect 1-2 for year-to-date sales in March, but slipped to fifth place in April. The automaker’s small crossover went on sale in 2020 with an all-new design, including a facelift mid-last year with hybrid power for the first time. This hybrid powertrain has been developed as part of the firm’s partnership with Renault, and is shared with the Renault Captur e-Tech Hybrid.

6. Hyundai Tucson: 12,378 units
The Hyundai Tucson is one of the UK’s most popular SUVs, regularly appearing in the top 10 last year. Probably the most premium option in the top 10, it was refreshed for 2021 with a new front end and a unique, eye-catching lighting setup. Its luxurious interior and range of electric powertrains make it an attractive proposition for many buyers.
7. Tesla Model Y: 11,503 units
Tesla’s influence on the UK car market continues, and the Model Y is its driving force.
