Good news for the citizens of Lahore. Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has launched ‘Mobile Car’ registration facility in Lahore to streamline and simplify the vehicle registration process. Which has been officially launched.
Punjab Excise Mobile Registration Service in Lahore has announced its schedule to provide live registration services to residents. It has been started from the parking lot of Jinnah Library. After an initial session at Bagh Jinnah Library Parking on March 19, the service will be available at Liberty Chowk Gulberg on March 20 and then at Fortress Stadium Lahore Cantt on March 21.
On March 22, the mobile registration service will once again be available at the Johar Town Maulana Shaukat Ali Road Car Market.

The federal government has announced the Pakistan petrol and diesel prices in the country for the second half of March 2024 on Friday. The government has announced a decision to reduce the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 1.77 per liter and maintain the price of petrol.

According to the notification, the price of petrol will remain at Rs 279.75 per litre. However, the price of high-speed diesel has come down by 1.77 rupees per litre, bringing it down to 285.56 paise per litre.
Although not clearly mentioned in the notification, sources in the finance ministry say that the price of light diesel oil has also been reduced by Rs 2.12 per liter and the price of kerosene by Rs 1.35 per litre.
Sources further said that the government is collecting around Rs 82 per liter tax on both petrol and diesel. The levy on petrol and diesel is Rs 60 per litre. The government has collected Rs 475 billion from consumers during the first six months. The target is to collect 920 to 970 billion rupees in the current financial year.
The schools timing in Ramadan 2024 have been changed in all public and private institutions of Punjab, Pakistan. Notification issued by the Provincial Education Authority.
According to the new guidelines, boys schools will open from 8:30 am to 01:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, while educational institutions will open until 12:30 am on Friday.
While girls schools will open at 8:15 AM and will close on 12:45 PM from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, on Friday, girls schools will open at 8:15 am to 12:15 PM.
Schools that operate in two shifts will follow a different schedule. Double shift schools will start from 08:30 am to 12:30 pm in the first shift and will work in the second shift from 01:30 pm to 04:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, second shift schools will open at 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm.

Punjab Government has issued Office Timing in Ramadan 2024. Notification has been issued.
According to the notification issued by the Service and General Administration Department (S&GAD) Office hours will be 5 days a week, Monday through Thursday from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. The working hours on Friday will be from 9 am to 12:30 pm, the statement said.

Sui Southern Gas Company has shared gas load shedding for Ramadan 2024. SSGC has confirmed that gas supply will not be suspended during Sehri and Iftari hours during Ramadan.

The fee for a 36-page passport for a period of 5 years has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,500. Normal fee for 72 page passport for 5 years will be Rs 8,200. The fee for normal passport for 10 years has been increased from Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,700. A normal passport of 100 pages for a period of 10 years will cost at Rs 12,400.
Similarly, the government of Pakistan has increased the fee for urgent passport. Urgent fee for 5 years passport having 36 pages has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500. Urgent fee for 10 years passport has been increased from Rs 7,500 to Rs 11,200.

The Zakat Nisab 2024 in Pakistan (minimum amount to pay zakat) for the year 2024/1445 hijri is Rs. 135,179 which is fixed by State Bank of Pakistan and if you have more cash or assets than this amount, then you can calculate your Zakat and pay.
Zakat On Gold
Zakat is applicable if your annual saving is equal to or more than 7.5 tolas of gold or 52.5 tolas of silver. The benchmark or index is set with the lowest price compared to the price of the commodity, which is silver. The rate of Zakat is determined on the average annual value of the precious metal.
To calculate Zakat you have to add the financial value of all liable assets. Only those assets that have been in your possession for at least one year should be included for Zakat. Dues are also calculated and deducted from the total and 2.5% of the final amount is given.
Example:
For example, you have 100 grams of gold, 5 lakhs in cash, lend someone PKR 1 lakh, and owe someone else PKR 50,000. You will calculate Zakat as follows:
1 gram of 22 carat gold = Rs. 9,869.51/
100 grams of 22 carat gold = Rs. 9,869,510/
Cash = Rs. 500,000/
Loans to others = Rs. 100,000/
Total Assets = Rs. 10,469,510/
Zakat = Total Assets – Liabilities
10,469,510 – 50,000 (the loan amount you owe) = 10,419,510
10,419,510 is the monetary value of the total asset that you have. Now the Zakat due is 2.5% of this amount and it will be 260,487.75 rupees.
Who is eligible for zakat
Individuals who own 3 ounces or 85.04 grams of gold or more are eligible to pay Zakat. Only assets that have been in your possession for at least one lunar year should be calculated for Zakat.
Zakat Deduction Date 2024
According to the rules, zakat is deducted from customers’ savings bank accounts, profit and loss sharing accounts and other similar account on 1st Ramadan every year. Current accounts in banks are exempt from this deduction.
OGRA has Revises Petrol Prices in Pakistan for Next 15 Days from March 1, 2024. Notification Issued
According to the notification issued by the Finance Division, after an increase of Rs 4.13, the new price of petrol has now become Rs 275.62 per liter which was Rs 275.62 earlier. The price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) and Light Speed Diesel are not changed.
The new prices will be applicable from 12 pm today.
