School Education Department of Punjab Government has shared an important notification regarding summer vacations. According to the government, all government schools will participate in the selective district of Punjab Schools Summer Camp 2023.

All youth ages 5 to 9 are welcome to attend the 8-week summer camp. The main goals of these camp programs are to improve students’ knowledge in Urdu, English and Mathematics. Even children who are not yet in school can participate in these summer programs and have the opportunity to join classes starting in August 2023 after the summer break.

The summer camps will start from 12 June 2023 in selected districts of Punjab including Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh and Rahim Yar Khan.

Summer camps will be held from Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 9:30 am. Punjab Education Department will provide required equipment to the school including pens, notebooks, pencils and books.

The Government of Pakistan has announced to revive the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme under the Prime Minister Youth Programe. Under this scheme, 1 lakh laptops will be distributed among the students. This was announced by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

PM Laptop scheme eligibility criteria is given below.

  • Applicant must have a valid CNIC/B-Form number.
  • Students enrolled in PhD/ MS/ MPhil or equivalent 18-year program.
  • Students enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree program (morning and evening).
  • Students enrolled in MBA Program (3.5 years, 2.5 years, and 1.5 years).
  • Must be a valid student by the last date of application submission i.e. December 31, 2022.
  • Students enrolled by 31 December 2022, but no earlier than the duration of their respective program as per the table below

Ineligible:

The following students will not be eligible for laptops under this scheme.

  • Students enrolled in any private sector Higher Education Institution (HEI).
  • Students who have already received a laptop under a federal or provincial government scheme.
  • Foreign nationals other than students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
  • If a student has not applied online or his/her application has not been received through the online portal.
  • Eligibility for laptop award will also be determined at the time of distribution. If the student(s) fails to produce the required documents and proof of academic performance, against the data that made him/her eligible for the laptop, he/she will not be given the laptop.
  • Any selected student who has passed degree program before distribution of laptop.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the government of Pakistan has reduced the prices of ghee and edible oil at utility stores.

In his message on social networking site Twitter, Ishaq Dar said that prices of ghee and edible oil have been reduced at utility stores. The price of Tyrone brand ghee has been reduced by Rs. 69 and the price of cooking oil has been reduced by Rs. 76 per litre.

The Finance Minister said that the price of second grade ghee is Rs 20 per kg less than the market price. Tier 1 ghee at utility stores is Rs 8 to Rs 35 per kg cheaper than the market. Tier one cooking oil is Rs 40 to 78 cheaper than the market.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that reduction in prices of ghee and edible oil at utility stores will be implemented immediately.
