There is major drop in ghee and cooking oil prices in Pakistan. The country’s Bureau of Statistics reported that Pakistan’s inflation increased further on a year-on-year basis in the first week of December 2023. But the government has reduced the prices of cooking oil and given relief to the people due to inflation.

Utility Stores has announced a significant reduction in the prices of branded ghee and cooking oil at all outlets in Pakistan.

Petrol Prices Have Been Reduced In Pakistan For December

A spokesperson of a government agency said that the price of ghee has been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 482 per kg, while the price of cooking oil has also been reduced by Rs 50 per kg.

All top brands have seen a price cut and the popular cooking oil will be available at Rs 470 per litre, down from Rs 520 per litre, spokespeople said. Additionally, the price of another brand of oil saw a drop of Rs 37. The new price is Rs 518 per liter and it was earlier selling at Rs 555 per litre.

It should be noted that new prices have been implemented at all stores. The spokesperson of Utility Stores Corporation further said that the government is trying to further reduce the prices of various other items as people are paying higher prices during inflation.

The Caretaker Government of Pakistan has decided to reduce the prices of petrol in Pakistan from 16 December 2023, It has been decided to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 14 per liter and diesel price by Rs 13.50 per litre. A notification has been issued in this regard. The reduction in the prices of petroleum products will be implemented from 12 pm today.

As per the revised prices, petrol is now retailing at Rs 267.34 per litre, while HSD is Rs 276.21. This double-digit reduction translates to a nearly 5% drop in fuel prices, a welcome change for consumers battling inflation and rising living costs.
