After Gandam Scheme 2024, wheat rate in Punjab has been crashed. The maximum wheat rate in Punjab offered to farmers by private buyers is around Rs 3,600 per 40 kg. A sharp drop in the price of new wheat has been reflected in the official wholesale price of wheat compiled by the provincial government.
According to the official price list of agricultural commodities for 12 major markets, the price of wheat in South Punjab has fallen below Rs 3,900 in the wholesale market. That is, wheat is being bought from farmers in the open market for less than 3,200 rupees.

According to the load shedding schedule issued by GEPCO, on 03, 17, and 24 April, the light of Mong feeder will remained closed from 9AM to 2PM.
Similarly, on 04, 21, 25 and 28 April, the light of Complex, Wasu, City, Crystal, Phalia Road, Canal, Gurrah, Katchery Road, Shah Taj, Jhulana, Gulshan Iqbal, Sufi City, Sohawa feeders will remained closed from 9AM to 2PM.
On 16 April, the light of Rasool feeder will remained closed from 9AM to 2PM.
On 22 April, the light of Railway Station Chillianwala feeder will remained closed from 9AM to 2PM.
The Punjab govt has started implementing the initiative of giving bikes to students in easy installments. Students are requested to register as soon as possible on web portal online.
In a message on the official Twitter page of Pakistan Muslim League (N), it has been said that ‘Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has started providing 20,000 bikes as gifts to the students. Including 19 thousand petrol bikes and 1 thousand electric bikes.

In view of the change in global prices and the federal government’s plan to increase the levy, the expected fuel prices is estimated to be around Rs 300 from April 16, 2024 in Pakistan.
The price of petrol will increase from Rs 289.40 per liter to Rs 298 per liter for the next two weeks. Diesel price is also expected to increase by around Rs 2 per liter from the previous rate of Rs 282 to around Rs 284.24 per litre.
Unofficial reports further claim that the Pakistani government is considering increasing the petroleum levy from Rs 60 to Rs 100 per litre, with the current levy already at a maximum of Rs 60 per litre.
This could lead to a record hike in petrol prices in Pakistan, and the government will announce new prices based on the final exchange rate on April 15.
The price of applying online for a new or renewal adult passport will increase from £82.50 to £88.50 – a 7% increase. This comes after a 9% increase in February last year.
Prior to this increase, passport prices had not increased for five years. An online application costs £75.50 for an adult. The cost of applying for a child’s passport online is also rising from £53.50 to £57.50.
Those applying by post will see the biggest increase, with the price of an adult passport rising from £93 to £100 and a child from £64 to £69. Online and paper applications made from abroad are even more expensive.
It said, “The new fees will help ensure that revenue from these applications better covers the cost of passport delivery and associated operations, allowing for funding from general taxation.” Dependence is reduced,” he said.
“The fee contributes to the cost of processing passport applications, consular support abroad, including lost or stolen passports, and the cost of processing British nationals at UK borders. “The increase will also help the government improve its services.”
